It was again time for the highlight of the year. Spaniel Club Main show is the moment every autumn, when many breeders and dog owners gather together in same place to follow how tens of dogs enter the ring. The atmosphere was again very happy, so I want to thank all participants!
Like before also this year at show place was equipment seller, breed club stands, cafe etc. available. All services worked well and during the pause in the middle of the day all participants could enjoy the cookies and punch offered by the Spaniel Club.
In this show was total 86 English springer spaniels entered, from which 16 puppies, 27 dogs and 43 bitches. Judge was Penny Williams (kennel Bournehouse, UK). Already fourth time in history Best Of Breed was this year in veteran class competing male Ch.Adamant's Golden Boy (Ch.Adamant's Superman-Ch.Adamant's Sound Of Success, owned by Saila Sundell & Tiina Mattila, bred by Tarja Hovila), who was nicely also BIS-3. Second best male was champion class winner Ch.Saframin Joutojätkä (Ch.Qvarnhill Pipes And Drums-Saframin E-Mail Me, owned by Soile Hannula, bred by Minna Kangaslampi). Third best male was intermediate class winner Livingdale's Frank Capra (Ch.Mompesson Blinking Hell-Livingdale's Candy Lady, owned by Marianne Kyläniemi & Anne Lähteinen, bred by Marianne Kyläniemi), who also won the CC. Fourth best male was Ch.Saframin Jalomieli (Ch.Qvarnhill Pipes And Drums-Saframin E-Mail Me, owned by Sari Nuolikoski, bred by Minna Kangaslampi) from working class. Res-CC went to open class winner Wildomar's Bland Esquire (Ch.Whisborne Esquire-Ch.Nobhill Pretty Piece Of Adamant, owned by Sanna Kavén & Satu Raassina, bred by Sanna&Sami Kavén).

Best bitch and Best of Opposite Sex was champion class winner Swedish import Ch.Art-Wave's Big Mama (Mompesson Playboy-Ch.New Design's Big Bertha, owned by Asta Lielahti, bred by Jens Karlsson). Second best bitch was Ch. Dreemteems Evita Peron (Hightide's Best Vision - Ch.Hightide's Ocean Mist, owned by Thorsti Theqvist, bred by Gudrun Degerth), who was also second in champion class. Third best bitch was veteran bitch Ch.Adamant's Golden Sound (Ch.Adamant's Superman-Ch.Adamant's Sound Of Success, owned by Tuija Sällylä, bred by Tarja Hovila). 4th best bitch with CC was working class winner Saframin Jabadabaduu (Ch.Qvarnhill Pipes And Drums-Saframin E-Mail Me, owned by Kirsi Sillanpää, bred by Minna Kangaslampi), who also finished her Finnish Championship today. Res-CC went to intermediate class winner, Estonian import, Alfalex Flash (Ch.Barecho Fun For The Future-Ch.Esrellest Riinu-Ly-Panda, owned by Suvi Lindholm & Lea Kuikka, bred by Riin Remma).

This year the best of breed winner Ch.Adamant's Golden Boy was also competing in veteran classes and was of course also Best Veteran in Breed, but also BIS2-veteran. BOS-veteran was his sister Ch.Adamant's Golden Sound. BOB and BIS3 puppy went to Swedish import female Hunting Habit's Samantha Fox (Ch.Calvdale Crimewave-Hunting Habit's Megan Of Norfolk, owned by Petra Kisonen, bred by Pia Axelsson) and as BOS-puppy was rewarded Coco Hit's Flaming Boy (Ch.Strathnaver Hells Angel-Ch.Astrospring's Ismene, owned by Maija&Risto Nieminen, bred by Marja Lupsakko).

BOB-breeder went to kennel Adamant's (Tarja Hovila, Somero), and this was already 10th BOB-breeder win in row for the same breeder in our club show. Ch.Nobhill Pretty Piece Of Adamant (Ch.Barecho Face The Facts-Ch.Melverly Mystery Girl, owned by Sanna&Sami Kavén, bred by Monica Dreijer) won BOB-progeny with her children.

There was 66 Welsh springer spaniels entered, from which 15 puppies, 25 dogs and 26 bitches. Judge was breed specialist Joy Hartley (kennel Weslave, UK). Best of Breed was the top winning welsh springer in our country Ch.Benton One More Duck (Arkview Moonstroller-Ch.Benton Garden Party, owned by Hannele & Jukka Pakkala, bred by Marjo Jaakkola). Second best male was veteran class winner Ch.Wesper Oliver Stone (Ch.Llawen Gopher-Ch.Wesper Sally Be Good, owned by Helena&Markku Laakso, bred by Virpi&Petri Lakso). Third best male with CC was intermediate class winner Benton Pigs Might Fly (Ch.Chateau Suduiraut Av Vettin-Ch.Benton Let'Em Talk, owned by Tuire Hemminki, bred by Marjo Jaakkola). Open class winner Benton Olympic Gold (Arkview Moonstroller-Ch.Benton Garden Party, owned by Päivi Nevalainen, bred by Marjo Jaakkola) ended as fourth best male.

The win in best bitch took the intermediate class winner Benton Pearl At Wesper (Ch.Chateau Suduiraut Av Vettin-Ch.Benton Let'Em Talk, owned by Virpi&Petri Lakso, bred by Marjo Jaakkola), and she got also CC and was chosen as 3rd best BOS in show. Second best bitch was champion class winner Ch.Wesper Long Beach (Ch.Benton Everybody Duck-Ch.Wesper On The Beach, owned and bred by Virpi&Petri Lakso). Third best bitch with res-CC was sister to best bitch from intermediate class Benton Pep Talk (Ch.Chateau Suduiraut Av Vettin-Ch.Benton Let'Em Talk, om.&kasv. Marjo Jaakkola). Fourth best bitch was Ch.Benton Let'Em Talk (Don's TT-Ch.Benton Garden Party, owned by Minna Rantanen, bred by Marjo Jaakkola), who was also second in champion class.

In veteran classes BOB-veteran and also BIS-veteran was Welsh springer spaniel Ch.Wesper Oliver Stone and BOS-veteran was rewarded to Ch.Benton Delaware Storm (Ch.Kazval Call Collect-Ch.Statesmans Ungridled, owned and bred by Marjo Jaakkola). Best Puppy in Breed was Mawredd Unplygrwydd (Ch.Julita Royal Reveller-Ch.Mawred Rhosyn, owned by Kirsti Väisänen-Hostikka & Heidi Hostikka, bred by Kirsti Väisänen-Hostikka). The highlight of the show was of course the rewarding of the Spaniel Of The Year 2006.
